Purple Power Smoothie

I don’t know about you, but all of this summer sun has taken a toll on my skin. Since I can’t get a facial until school starts in over a week, I am also going to be drinking this Purple Power Smoothie every day to give my skin a kickstart. I hope it works otherwise my aesthetician will have her work cut out for her.

Acai is know as the “Brazilian Beauty Berry”, because it has the highest concentration of antioxidants out of all the berries. It is the Gisele of berries. Antioxidants have many benefits, and one of them is reducing irritation, regenerating skin cells and anti-aging effects. Brazilians have been using acai for years in recipes and beauty products. I am sure this is why Gisele looks like she does.

I like using the Acai Powder by Nativas Organics as it highly concentrated and contains no sugar and 1 g of carbs. So for those of us watching our sugar and carb intake it is a great way to get all the benefits of the fruit while still keeping carbs and sugar low. Nativas Organics Acai Powder can be found on Amazon.com or at Whole Foods.
